CWS to Begin Work at Orange-Alamance Water System in North Carolina

Effective June 1, 2026, ClearWater Solutions will provide comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the water treatment and distribution facilities serving the Efland/Mebane area of North Carolina. The system includes a Grade A Water Treatment Plant with a 100,000-gallon clearwell and on-site well located in Efland, the Haw River Pump Station with capacities up to 800,000 GPD, multiple elevated and ground storage tanks, booster pump facilities, and emergency interconnects with the City of Mebane, Town of Hillsborough, and Town of Swepsonville.

Under this agreement, CWS will furnish a full-time certified operator and part-time operational support staff to oversee the management, operation, and maintenance of the facilities in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations. Services include serving as the certified Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC), performing routine preventative maintenance in accordance with OEM specifications, coordinating equipment and system repairs, and ensuring reliable plant operations and regulatory compliance.

CWS will also provide all required water quality testing, monitoring, reporting, and regulatory submissions, including monthly operational reports to the State of North Carolina, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Customer. Additional responsibilities include 24/7 emergency response services, safety assessments, basin cleaning services, and technical recommendations related to future capital improvements and system reliability enhancements.

Through proactive operations, regulatory expertise, and responsive customer service, CWS will help ensure the continued delivery of safe, reliable drinking water while supporting the long-term operational goals of the utility system.
