CWS Awarded Scope Expansion on Wedowee Contract

The Wedowee Utilities Board is expanding its partnership with CWS! Beginning September 1, 2025, our team will also oversee operations and management of the Town’s wastewater lagoon under a new five-year agreement.

The lagoon recently received a major upgrade, adding new equipment to improve efficiency and ensure continued regulatory compliance. The improvements include eight aerators, six rotating biological contractors, two effluent pumps, and a new filtration system—helping us keep the community’s water systems running smoothly for years to come.

According to Project Manager Hunter Shelton, “Our biggest focus will be on optimizing the operation of the new equipment to save the client money on their skyrocketing electricity costs.”

CWS began providing full O&M services for the town’s John Swann Water Treatment Plant and distribution system—a Grade 4 surface water facility—in 2023.
