The CWS team is making steady progress on the Town of Century’s wastewater treatment plant improvements, a major project that began in May 2025. The $8.7 million upgrade—funded in part by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency—will modernize key components of the facility to ensure reliable service for the Town’s residents.
Work includes cleaning and coating the interior and exterior walls of each Aeration Basin, repairing diffusers across all three basins, and refurbishing each clarifier system. Crews have also completed cleaning and coating one clarifier, along with upgrades to the chlorine contact chambers and post-aeration system.
In addition to plant-wide rehabilitation, the project also covers improvements to the Town’s Lift Station. Expected to be completed in May 2026, the upgrades will enhance efficiency, extend the life of the equipment, and strengthen environmental protection for the community.
CWS has been providing the operations, maintenance, and management of the Town’s wastewater system since April 2024.
