With over 15 years of experience in the water and sewer industry, Houston Black has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and leadership throughout his career at ClearWater Solutions. Starting as a Certified Water and Sewer Operator, Houston earned his certification in 2008 and quickly advanced through the ranks. During his tenure at ClearWater, he held several key leadership roles, including Project Manager (2014-2016), Area Manager (2016-2017), Regional Manager (2017-2019), and Chief Operating Officer (2019-2022).
In 2022, Houston transitioned to his current position as Executive Vice President of Capital Management Solutions, where he leverages his extensive experience to guide the company toward long-term success. Known for his strategic approach to business management, Houston excels in revenue building, cost reduction, and optimizing operational efficiency, leading to increased profitability and growth. His expertise in budgeting, long-range planning, and professional development has been instrumental in cultivating strong, high-performing teams and fostering lasting relationships with stakeholders.
Recognized for his leadership skills, Houston was honored with the “Young Professional of the Year” award from the AWWA AL/MS Section in 2016. He is also a graduate of the Leaders Code in Leadership training program, further enhancing his ability to inspire and guide teams through complex challenges.
With a foundation in business, Houston holds an Associate of Science in Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn University.
