Israel Vega has been named State Director over CWS operations in Florida. With over 18 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry and a Florida (FDEP) Class C Wastewater Treatment Operator certification, Israel brings deep expertise and a strong leadership background to his new role.
As the previous Area Manager for Corix Utilities’ Texas Water Utilities, Israel managed the system’s eight underground water systems, 12 lift stations, three conventional wastewater plants, and seven membrane wastewater plants to streamline all operations. He led strategic operational improvements across multiple facilities, overseeing compliance reporting (including DMRs, Disinfection Reports, and MORs), equipment operations, and sampling.
Israel has a strong track record of results: he reduced noncompliance by 98% at key WWTPs, developed new biological process controls, implemented safety and risk protocols that led to zero workplace accidents, and helped bring multiple potable systems into compliance across five counties. His efforts also saved over $250K in potential penalties through proactive operational planning. For his achievements, Israel was named the winner of the Silver Peak Performance Award by National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA).
“We are excited to have Israel join our team in Florida,” said Josh Van Horn. “His technical expertise and proven leadership skills make him an incredible asset as we continue to grow and strengthen our commitment to excellence.”
