CWS Welcomes New Director of Information Technology

Chris Edwards has been hired as the new Director of Information Technology at CWS. His extensive background includes a history of working in various different industries, such as retail, manufacturing, warehouse, heavy machinery and even health care.

As someone who always enjoyed trying to figure out how things work and how to make them perform better than they did before, Chris knew he wanted to dive into the field of Information Technology. With over 20 years of experience in IT, he explains that it has helped him develop a strong expertise in service management, process improvement, technical support, and ultimately develop a deep understanding of business needs and challenges within the industry.

Chris says his #1 goal is “to improve our processes to build into creating a seamless IT experience for everyone.”

At his previous job, he managed IT Operations, Infrastructure, Service Desk and direct reports for 16 sites across the entire state of South Carolina with over 800 end users. Chris holds credentials of Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and ITIL Practitioner, which has allowed him to perform the most effective practices and standards for IT service delivery and performance.

Aside from IT, Chris enjoys doing all the outdoorsy things. He loves fishing whether it be offshore, inshore or freshwater. He also spends his time golfing, kayaking, and traveling.
