The CWS team in Petal, MS recently celebrated the one year mark of our partnership with the City. Since October 2022, our company has been providing professional O&M services for the Public Works Department, as well as the water distribution, sewer maintenance, street maintenance, and vehicle maintenance for the City. In addition, CWS maintains the City’s rights-of-way. The sewer system includes 4 wells, 82 lift stations, and the collection system which serves its 11,122 residents. The water system involves a 2 MGD treatment plant, 3 pump stations, 4 wells, 60 miles of water line, as well as meter reading services. The team of 15 employees is led by Project Manager, Matt Fountain.
“On October 1, 2022, the City of Petal began a contract with ClearWater to operate our Public Works Department,” said Mayor Tony Ducker. “I can’t say enough about the work they have done for us. One of the things you often dread about a switch out is the lack of communication and overall decrease in productivity. ClearWater communicated how they would handle everything and hit the ground running on day one. We were able to increase our service and I couldn’t be happier about the going with them. One of our considerations was keeping pace with what the market is paying and state retirement that continues to rise. Everyone of our employees was offered a job, and with a 401K Clearwater is able to attract and retain good personnel. Overall, we are getting things done, while Clearwater saves us money and headaches. It is a partnership and I believe ClearWater has the same goals as the City.”
Congratulations to the Petal team and thank you for your dedication!
