REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS
Requirements for Applying:
To be considered for this $1,000 non-renewable scholarship, applicants must:
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA verified by an official school transcript
- Have already received acceptance from the college/university you plan to attend
- Demonstrate community service through school, church, civic clubs, etc.
- Provide all required documents including the application on Page 2, Q&A responses, 2 reference letters, and transcript
Instructions:
There are 2 ways you may submit your application:
- By email: Complete the following application form. If emailing the package, save all documents as one .pdf file and email your application and required documents to [email protected] by the deadline of April 1st. Late submittals will not be considered. Do not send links (such as google docs) to access documents. Be sure to include all of the following items:
Completed scholarship application (page 2).
- In the “Getting to Know You” section, select 2 of the 5 questions to answer. Each question should be answered in paragraph form in 250 – 500 words.
- 2 letters of recommendation typed on letterhead with signature and title, from a High School Teacher or Administrator, employer, and/or Community or Church Leader (letter should reflect your service and
involvement). These may be emailed directly to Beth Turner. - A copy of your official high school transcript.
- Online Application: If you prefer, you may complete the application and submit it on our website: https://clearwatersolutions.com/scholarship-application/ You will be prompted to upload the documents shown above.
Other Important Information:
The Scholarship Committee will receive applications until April 1st. We will review all applications and decide on a recipient based on a combination of the above-listed qualifications no later than the end of April. We will contact the Guidance Counselor to let him/her know who was selected and the scholarship recipient will be notified via email. Please make sure that your email address is correct; DO NOT use your school email address.
After April 1st, be sure to check your email regularly for notification status.
A CWS representative will present the scholarship award to the winning applicant at an arranged time, typically during the school’s award ceremony or at a public meeting such as city council meeting, board meeting, etc. A photograph may be used in the newspaper, on social media, or other printed CWS materials. Acceptance of the scholarship confirms you give your permission for your photo to be used.
