In times of natural disaster, the kindness of others shines more brightly. We hear stories of volunteers lending a hand to clean up debris. Linemen showing up from several states away to help restore power. And even donations of food and supplies pouring in from nearby communities. The generosity of others makes you realize that there are still good people among us.
One such inspiring story took place in McCormick, SC with our own team members. ClearWater Solutions stepped up to help a local business care for the community after the recent Hurricane Helene blew through the state.
CWS leaders happened to be in the Emergency Operations Center when the County Administrator relayed a message of concern. Strom’s Drug Store was without power. It was anticipated that it would be days before service would be restored, and that meant there was no way to provide essential medications to those who needed them. Our McCormick County team, who had secured several generators to power its facilities should the need arise, had one generator that was not being used at the time. The team was able to loan it to the pharmacy for a couple of days so that it could open and serve its customers.
According to Dana Hill, Vice President of Operations for the South Carolina area, “This is a true reflection of our company’s partnership with McCormick County. We are thankful that our team members recognized the need and had the willingness to step up and serve and care for the McCormick community.”
