We are excited to announce that Sean McFarland has joined ClearWater Solutions as the State Director for Florida. Sean will oversee the company’s statewide operations, supporting excellence in service delivery, regulatory compliance, and long-term utility sustainability.
Sean’s background includes 17 years of experience, ranging from Water Plant Superintendent to Water Operations Manager to his most recent role as Assistant Utilities Operations Director for Marion County, Florida. In this capacity, Sean oversaw daily operations of the county’s water and wastewater treatment facilities. He managed operational and capital improvement budgets, coordinated with regional water management districts on water use and consumptive use permitting, and led initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and compliance across the utility system.
Prior to that, Sean was the Water Treatment Manager for the City of Cocoa, Florida. There, he directed operations for a 60-million-gallon-per-day water treatment facility, managed a team of 57 employees, and ensured safe, reliable service to major government and military entities, including NASA and the U.S. Space Force.
In addition to his 17 years of expertise, Sean holds a Class “A” Water Plant Operators License, Class “C” Wastewater Plant Operators License, and Class “A” Collections Certificate.
