The leadership of ClearWater Solutions is excited to announce that Andrew Griffin has been promoted to State Director for Missouri. Andrew previously served as the Area Manager for the region and was a 2024 recipient of the CWS Excellence Award.
Andrew joined the company in 2019 as a member of the Start-Up Maintenance/Construction Crew for Midwest Water. His responsibilities included Day One start-up of plants, assessing deficiencies, rehabilitating plants, procuring parts and supplies, and training employees. He quickly proved himself a valuable leader in the company and was named Project Manager for the Terre du Lac project in 2021.
As the Project Manager for Terre du Lac, Andrew provided operations and maintenance of 1250 wastewater connections with three separate collection systems and treatment facilities, 800 effluent pump stations, five lift stations, 1250 drinking water connections, two wells, and two water tanks. Andrew also oversaw the day-to-day staffing and work schedules of his team members.
In 2023, Andrew was promoted to Area Manager within the state of Missouri. Working with the State Director, Project Managers, and clients, Andrew was responsible for tracking repair projects and the operations of the water and wastewater facilities in the region. He assisted operators and managers to rectify issues at plants, as well as performed administrative duties such as scheduling of team members, maintaining fleet vehicles, and assisting with staff hiring.
According to Brady Graves, the VP of Operations for the West Region, “Andrew has continuously built up his strengths as a leader and evolved with the ever-changing water and wastewater industry. He has shown that he truly cares about the team, company, and clients. I believe that he has always tried to do what is best for all parties involved with a project and look forward to seeing his continually growth as the newest State Director.”
For his innovative spirit, exceptional leadership skills, and unwavering integrity, Andrew received CWS’s Excellence Award in 2024. According to the nomination package submitted on his behalf, “Andrew has worked tirelessly with our client to find an affordable solution to the obsolete pump stations at Terre Du Lac. The majority of the pump stations have a pump, motor, and tank set up that was engineered by a company that is no longer in business. The tanks are extremely shallow and the force main has a very high pressure to overcome, thus most effluent pumps will not achieve the pressure to pump out the tank and also pump from the proper depth as to not short cycle the motor. Instead of just giving up on a bad situation, Andrew has been working with pump suppliers and vendors to find a solution that will work and also not break the bank for our client.”
In addition to having completed the “Journeyman Water System Operation Specialist: Drinking Water Treatment & Distribution” course through the Missouri Rural Water Association, Andrew holds Missouri Wastewater D, Drinking Water Treatment D, and Water Distribution II certifications.
